Press Release OnCore introduces "VelOCity," custom NPI, Quick Turn services Springfield, MA, June 29, 2009 — OnCore Manufacturing Services today announced its new VelOCity New Product Introduction (NPI) service centers. The new VelOCity will provide prototyping and quick turn manufacturing to the Defense, Medical/Scientific and Industrial markets. VelOCity NPI centers are located in OnCore's San Jose and San Marcos, CA manufacturing facilities and will be led by a team of experienced NPI professionals specializing in value-added engineering and high quality, quick turn production services. Shorter time-to-market and lower manufacturing costs VelOCity enables OEM clients to introduce products to market as quickly as possible with accelerated prototyping, engineering and testing services. The new service promises to produce PCBA, mechanical subassemblies and box-build prototypes in as little as two days. In addition, VelOCity will provide OEMs with everything they need to transition their projects into volume manufacturing. “Velocity enables quick turn production through comprehensive design engineering and streamlined assembly. Our goal is to reduce time-to-market and manufacturing costs over the life of a product,” said Daniel Perez, OnCore President. “Our facilities have been designed to speed production and improve efficacy of our customers’ products. Our objective is to meet or exceed customer expectations.” Custom engineering, assembly and test procedures reduce waste, improve quality The VelOCity team has developed several innovative NPI software tools and processes to ensure speed, quality and flexibility. Support processes such as Quick Turn RFQs can get projects underway within 24 hours. Engineering "design for assembly" and "design for supply chain" ensure a product’s efficient transition from NPI to volume production. VelOCity design engineers create custom test strategies, custom functional tests, environmental stress tests and many other processes to ensure the highest reliability for even the most complex assemblies. “VelOCity employees are trained and experienced in quick turn prototype processes that improve flexibility and efficiency, and reduce waste during manufacturing,” said Perez. "Their expertise, combined with our design and engineering practices will, we believe, result in the most cost-effective NPI service, enabling our customers to deliver the highest quality products on time."
